Whitley Strieber reacts to Stephen Hawking’s warning about alien contact

http://www.digitaljournal.com/img/2/2/2/6/i/6/4/0/o/alien-boy-640×512.jpg

When it comes to understanding the question of Ufos and alien abductions—and specifically that of “the Grays”—the essential thing to remember is that none of this is what it seems.

And although I am quite sure Strieber would be the very first person to admit this (at least on a good day)—has been at pains for years to convey this very idea—for all of that he seems unable to resist the urge to talk and write about the phenomena as if it were, finally, apprehensible to reason.

As a result, Strieber spends half his time arguing against simplistic, literal-minded, “good or evil, angel or devil” interpretations, and the other half either damning the beings as demons or advocating them as angels.

Apparently, this is all part of the aliens’ chosen method of presentation: a positive perspective, a negative one, and finally a synthesis of both.

Yet Strieber follows this approach in such a haphazard, slipshod fashion that at times he seems unaware of doing so.

It is almost as if he has been programmed by his “visitors,” and that, in order to be effective, he must remain in the dark himself, at least until he reaches the third perspective, and achieves synthesis of his various, fragmented selves (assuming he ever does).

    {Trad. Arr Sinead O’Connor, extra lyrics by Sinead O’Connor}

    —————————————————————-

    By the rivers of Babylon
    Where I sat down
    There I wept
    When I remembered Zion

    There on the poplars
    I broke my guitar
    Because my tormentors required songs

    Songs of where I’m from
    Songs of where I’m from
    Oh songs of Zion

If I forget U oh Jah
    May both my hands wither
    And may my mouth freeze
If I forget how I knelt at your feet.

I said I’d be your lover.
You laughed at what I said.
    I lost my job forever.
I was counted with the dead.

    I swept the marble chambers,
But you sent me down below.
    You kept me from believing
    Until you let me know:

That I am not the one who loves –
    It’s love that seizes me.
When hatred with his package comes,
    You forbid delivery.

And when the hunger for your touch
    Rises from the hunger,
You whisper, “You have loved enough,
Now let me be the Lover.”

    I swept the marble chambers,
But you sent me down below.
    You kept me from believing
    Until you let me know:

That I am not the one who loves –

Sit by my side, come as close as the air,
    Share in a memory of gray;
Wander in my words, dream about the pictures
    That I play of changes.

Green leaves of summer turn red in the fall
To brown and to yellow they fade.
And then they have to die, trapped within
the circle time parade of changes.

Scenes of my young years were warm in my mind,
    Visions of shadows that shine.
Til one day I returned and found they were the
Victims of the vines of changes.

The world’s spinning madly, it drifts in the dark
Swings through a hollow of haze,
A race around the stars, a journey through
    The universe ablaze with changes.

Moments of magic will glow in the night
All fears of the forest are gone
But when the morning breaks they’re swept away by
golden drops of dawn, of changes.

Passions will part to a strange melody.
As fires will sometimes burn cold.
Like petals in the wind, we’re puppets to the silver
    strings of souls, of changes.

Your tears will be trembling, now we’re somewhere else,
One last cup of wine we will pour
And I’ll kiss you one more time, and leave you on
the rolling river shores of changes.

As for the budget deficit, it totaled $1.4 trillion last year and will likely register about the same amount this year. The growing debt has largely been funded by China, but that country has begun to reduce its purchases of Treasury securities.”We have had China say that they are looking for other places to put their reserves, and that is probably a smart decision on their part,” Gregg said. “So the warning signs are pretty clear and the path is unsustainable, and, at this point unless we take different actions, unavoidable.”So what’s the upshot? “We haven’t faced up to the crisis which is impending, which is the financial meltdown of our nation due to excessive debt,” Gregg said. He sees that happening in five to seven years.

  16. blessedistruth Says:

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell called the legislation a “dramatic overreach” into “every nook and cranny of American business.” Republican strategists say that characterization feeds into a major campaign narrative for party candidates — that Democrats are spending too much money on sweeping legislative proposals. ‘Wasteful Spending’ Ninety percent of voters said they were concerned with government spending, in a bipartisan Battleground poll conducted earlier this month by Lake Research Partners, a Democratic polling firm, and the Tarrance Group, a Republican firm. Almost half those surveyed said they thought Republicans would do a better job controlling the “wasteful spending” than congressional Democrats or the Obama administration. “Anytime we have a focus on high spending you see an issue that Republicans have a two-to-one lead,” said Ed Goeas, the CEO of Tarrance Group. Republican lawmakers also say Democrats risk a political backlash by forcing Republicans to block the legislation. “The American people are fed up with dysfunction,” Senator George Voinovich, of Ohio, told reporters yesterday. The tactic, he said, “adds to people’s skepticism and lack of respect for what we are doing here.” Pollsters say voters are likely to place blame on Congress — rather than either party — if the legislation fails, Doherty said. “What’s striking is how there’s no shortage of negative views of the government in a variety of different dimensions,” said Doherty.

    Dodd bill endgame

  30. blessedistruth Says:

The Democrats wanted to force the GOP to filibuster “Wall Street reform” a few times in order to milk their political advantage.  But will the politics really play out the way Democrats think they will? Depending on what changes Dodd makes to the bill, Republicans will be able to say that they forced Democrats to close bailout loopholes that would have allowed Wall Street to take on more risk and leverage. If the bill ends up getting 70-80 votes after the bailout provisions are stripped out, then which party is going to look like they were holding out on Wall Street’s behalf? In any case, I’m not sure that these three days in late April are going to weigh heavily on voters’ minds in November. As for the policy, it will be crucially important to track changes to the bill and to track the bill through conference (assuming there is one this time). The political fight is over, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to stop keeping score.04/28 04:36 PM

The law has made Arizona the butt of jokes on America’s late night talk and comedy shows, with the comedian Jon Stewart saying on The Daily Show this week that the state had become “the meth lab of democracy”.

The anti-immigration bill was passed in the same week Arizona sanctioned the so-called “birther law”, which requires that presidential candidates prove their citizenship by producing their birth certificates.

The state also recently passed another controversial law, which allows people to carry concealed firearms without a permit or background check.

But Arizona has often been prepared to go against the grain.

    AZ birther bill

A bill in Arizona that would require candidates for president to document their constitutional eligibility needs only an affirmative vote from the state Senate to advance to the governor, but its sponsor told WND she’s concerned GOP leadership will end up protecting President Obama’s secrets.

State Rep. Judy Burges, R-Skull Valley, told WND today her bill was approved by the House but now is being “held” by Senate President Robert Burns.

She explained Burns told her that in light of the controversy over the state’s immigration law – targeted by pro-amnesty immigrants and open-border activists – “he didn’t want to take on another one.”

Burns was on the floor of the Senate or in caucus much of today and couldn’t be reached directly for comment. A spokesman, Mike Philipsen, told WND only that the issue is “in the process.” He did not respond to requests to confirm the bill will be given to senators for a vote.

Burns represents District 9 and is a Republican from Peoria. He serves as chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Gov. Jan Brewer has not said whether she supports the bill.

The text of the Arizona bill is available online.

    http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/hb2441p.htm

But Burges told WND the disputes over immigration laws make now the right time to advance the argument over Obama’s eligibility to the level of state law.

“I think it is a perfect time,” she said.

She noted that the state legislative session is scheduled to conclude this week, and next year’s legislature may not be willing to look at the facts about Obama’s eligibility.

The real question is about the majority vote for amendments. Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) told blogger Mike Stark today that every amendment would need 60 votes.

A Senate leadership aide didn’t know what would be available on the Senate floor, but said that a 60-vote threshold “sounds plausible.”

Speigel was commissioned by the country of Grenada to make a major presentation on UFOs for the United Nations in 1978.

One of the materials he looked at in his preparation was a 1968 physics manual for Air Force cadets– the book had a section on UFOs and suggested they were a global phenomena that had been going on for thousands of years.

Further, the book suggested we were likely being visited by 3-4 different species of aliens, at various stages of development.

His UN presentation was a closed-door meeting with Sec. Gen. Kurt Waldheim in attendance and such luminaries as Jacques Vallee, Gordon Cooper, and J. Allen Hynek speaking, as well as Maj. Larry Coyne, a helicopter pilot who had a terrifying UFO encounter in 1973.

Grenada’s Prime Minister Eric Gairy led a press conference after the presentation that was not well received, and the proposal to further study UFOs was later tabled, Speigel recounted.

    See “E. Lee Speigel” comment:

I just want to comment on how troubling it is to find innacuracies in this UFO-related story.

It’s one of the reasons why the public has been inundated by misinformation on the subject.

This item re. Eric Gairy and UFOs shows an image of Gairy and several prominent experts, and claims the photo was taken in 1979 at a Miami ad hoc conference.

This couldn’t be further from the truth.

It also says that while Gairy was at this meeting, he was ousted from power in Grenada.

    This is also blatantly untrue.

The reason I know these things is because I was the person responsible for bringing all of these individuals together

(In the photo, I’m the man with the dark beard sitting across the table from Jacques Vallee).

That meeting took place in July 1978 at the United Nations in New York.

Gairy wasn’t ousted from power until well after the Nov. 1978 UFO presentation that I produced for him at the U.N.

Perhaps Gairy was at some other meeting in 1979 (in Miami) when the ouster took place, but it didn’t happen at the time this picture was taken.

Misinformation re. UFOs is the reason why the subject is still considered fringe.

    “UFOlogist Lee Spiegel” s/b Speigel?

‘We never could get close enough to pin them down, but they were round in shape and very metallic looking,’ Cooper points out. UFOs were to continue to haunt him when the Air Force Colonel was transferred several years later to Edwards Air Force Base Flight Test Center in the California desert.

What happened one afternoon while he was on duty at this military base is evidence enough that the government definitely does keep a lot of secrets when it comes to UFOs!

The incident took place in the late 1950’s, either 1957 or 1958 – as Cooper can best recall; and to this day, the photographic evidence of an actual UFO touching down upon the Earth is being kept under wraps.

During this period, Cooper was a Project Manager at Edwards Air Force Base, just three or four years before entering America’s space program. After lunch this particular day, Cooper had assigned a team of photographers to an area of the vast dry lake beds near Edwards.

In a taped interview with UFOlogist Lee Spiegel, the former Astronaut disclosed that while the crew was out there, they spotted a strange-looking craft above the lake bed, and they began taking films of it.

‘You Racist People In Here’Sen. Kevin Parker Hurls Racism Accusations At Colleagues In AlbanyA lawmaker from Brooklyn was at the center of an angry blow-up in Albany in the middle of a normally dull Finance Committee meeting. He’s had run-ins with his state senate colleagues before, but Sen. Kevin Parker’s latest outburst has now gone viral, thanks to an Internet video of a New York Senate hearing Tuesday.Parker was objecting to the way upstate Sen. John DeFrancisco, who is white, was questioning a nominee to the New York State Power Authority, who is black.I guess the question is what questions were being asked.”How dare you? You racist people in here,” Parker yelled.Soon the rhetoric got out of hand, with Committee Chair Karl Kruger telling Parker he would be removed if he didn’t quiet down. Parker, however, seemed to be spoiling for a fight.”You’re out of order. Step outside. Why don’t you step outside,” Kruger said.

Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Thursday that House Democrats expect to negotiate final changes to the reform bill in a bicameral conference meeting.Democrats skipped conference negotiations for the last major bill they passed, on healthcare reform, because leaders did not think they could muster a single Republican vote to approve changes sought in the House.I think we’re going to pass this piece of legislation through the Senate, we’ll have a conference report, and we’ll come out with a strong bill, Hoyer said during an appearance on CNBC.

    The hill

Conference report would have 60 vote threshold

So house dems wouldn’t be able to force chgs senate repubs oppose

What a difference one vote makes!

This is why divided govt is so crucial

And one party rule so dangerous

  54. blessedistruth Says:

But as the bill moves to the floor, the 59 Senate Democrats will also be mindful that, as a practical matter, they will not need more than one Republican to join with them in order to pass through the bill and fend off certain amendments. One senior Republican who was thought to be a potential supporter of the legislation said Thursday that he would not support the bill in its current form. Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), a member of the Banking committee and the ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, said he was still not satisfied with the bill during an appearance on MSNBC.Shelby said that a final bipartisan tally would depend on Democrats — as well as Republicans — showing some actual willingness to compromise, something Democrats may not be disposed to do after successfully forcing the GOP’s hand to allow debate.

There is plenty of cynicism involved — not on the part of the exasperated voters of Arizona, but rather

    from domestic political, religious, ideological, and ethnic interests that in patronizing fashion seek new dependent constituents;

from Mexico that in amoral fashion censures others for the sins it commits; and

from a strange nexus between corporate employers and ethnic lobbyists who see their own particular profit and influence enhanced through

the ordeal of millions of poor aliens, and

the subsidies of the strapped and now to be demonized taxpayer.

    Birther DC march

  67. blessedistruth Says:

The original challenge to Obama’s questionable U.S. citizenship was made by Phil J. Berg, a lawyer for Hillary Clinton back in August 2008, before Obama was officially nominated by the Democrat Party, says astute commentator John Lillpop on CanadaFreePress.com. The “Birthers” are derided by big media as a bunch of right-wing kooks, of course. Let’s hear it for H.R. Clinton, the original “Birther.”

No the original birther was barack obama himself

He told a military guy he couldn’t be prez because he was born in Kenya

    Maybe he was joshing!

    Obama that is

That happened in Hawaii around 1980

  68. blessedistruth Says:

Phil J. Berg, a lawyer for Hillary Clinton?

Maybe he represented her on another case

    Don’t know

  69. blessedistruth Says:

However, the entire issue of Barack Obama’s eligibility was first brought to the fore by lawyers acting on behalf of Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2008. Specifically, Phil J. Berg, hardly a member of any vast right wing conspiracy, was an ardent supporter of Hillary Rodham Clinton, and her candidacy for the presidency. Notwithstanding his liberal pedigree, Phil J. Berg was hot on the trail of one Barack Obama, because Berg wished to protect the American people from electing a non-citizen to the most powerful office in the world. In August 2008, before Obama was officially nominated by the Democrat party, Mr. Berg filed a legal challenge to Obama’s constitutional eligibility to occupy the Oval Office. On October 23, Mr. Berg filed a Motion to Expedite Resolution of Berg V. Obama

One of many links about freeper racebannon encounter with young barack obama

  72. blessedistruth Says:

Speaking of his encounter with Soetero, Bannon writes: He also told me something that I never forgot, for it caused me to do some other things in an effort to be nice to him and possibly a favor. We spoke of where I had been and the world as I saw it. I told him I had been to Africa , Mombassa specifically, and he said to me abruptly, “I was born there.” I told him he is not eligible to be president if that was true, but I remembered he said his mom was an American, so, maybe it was okay. But it was what I did after that makes this a true memory: I went back to the barracks and told others of this guy and suggested we all grab our photo albums and visit him again and show him pictures of Mombassa so he could see where he was from.No one wanted to go, and at that time, my camera had failed me weeks before we hit Mombassa and it was late August or early September until I had borrowed someone else’s pictures to develop myself so I had copies of where I was. But I never forgot meeting that man for those reasons. I was going to do him a favor and show him his home country of birth. And I never went back for some reason, most likely I forgot to or just felt that a one time chance encounter would be meaningless to both of us and didn’t mean we were friends.Bannon then closes his testimonial with the following observation: In the light of what is called “The Birther” movement, these memories are still foremost in my mind concerning this. While I cannot swear it was Barak Obama, all the details I do remember of that chance encounter fit the profile of the man who some people claim is born in Kenya and others claim he was born in Hawaii . The man I met was about 18, thin, Mulatto, told me he was born in Mombassa, raised overseas, was living in Hawaii and hadn’t yet been to many places in the world outside of those places, mostly, hadn’t been to the mainland of America for any long time period if at all. And he openly told me he wanted to be President. And I remember that face, the face of a young man who sat on a table to my right front, his hands resting on the edge of the table, him leaning forward, his smile, all teeth. It was Barak Obama. I don’t know if I’d bet my life on it, but I am willing to tell people openly at the risk of my ridicule. I was there, and saw him, spoke to him, and he openly told me he was born in Mombassa, Kenya, not Hawaii .Does it matter? Of course it does. It should not have to be explained as to why it matters.Race Bannon

    those are funny!

My detractors don’t seem to realize, if I had just blurted it out, what I remembered from then, THATS when I would have looked like I was jumping on the bandwagon.

Now? It honestly is for a college paper, I told my professor of the day and others, and she asked me to write it down.

That’s how it got around, I sent it to friends who I thought it would be interesting to read, and one of them published it on NY GOE’s website, and here we are today! 🙂

I am not worried, and I am not surprised that people find it hokey. It has been a long time and I obviously dont remember a lot of that day, but , like I said, I remember it only because I was going to go back and show him pictures of Mombassa from April 1980

Glenn Beck vs. Joel Rogers, King of the Progressives

    http://www.rightpundits.com/?p=6144

At the center of them all, keeping everybody in synch, is Joel Rogers.

    He has his own group,

COWS, which focuses on spreading the Progressive message in Wisconsin,

Emerald Cities, which is into urban planning for the New World Order, and

the Brookings Institute, to keep the egg-heads in line.

Joel Rogers belongs to just about all of them, or has ties through other cross-over groups like The New Party and Change to Win, where Andy Stern is now hanging out in since leaving SEIU.

Another key player is Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, who’s name pops up a lot, too.

She’s CEO of Green for All, was a bigwig in the AFL-CIO, and works with a host of groups like Working Partnerships, USA, National Alliance for Fair Employment Partnership for Working Families and Emerald Cities.

When you check out these groups, you will see people serving on several of them.

It’s all one big happy Progressive family.

Naturally, all are in favor of Cap and Trade.

    Is Beck hitting pay-dirt finally?

Is Cap & Trade the next step towards a totalitarian state?

Playing the race card is the tactic of those unwilling to make arguments on the merits.

The Arizona law is not about race; it’s not an attack on Latinos or legal immigrants.

It’s about one thing and one thing only: making immigration enforcement a reality.

It is time for a national debate:

Do we or don’t we want to enforce the country’s immigration laws?

If the answer is yes, the Arizona law is a necessary and lawful tool for doing so.

If the answer is no, we should end the charade of inadequate, half-hearted enforcement, enact an amnesty now, and remove future penalties for immigration violations.
