By Voice of Russia | Aleppo is a Syrian city that over the centuries has become Istanbul Turkish as a place of coexistence of many ethnic groups, religions and cultures. But if Istanbul, located on the sea and representative geographic point of view, a bridge between East and West, was originally dedicated to the fate of a cosmopolitan city, Aleppo has become so thanks to the magic and the wisdom of the Arabs, Europeans, Azeris, Armenians, Jews and representatives of other ethnic groups coexisted peacefully there without any problems.

Today, almost four years after the start of the Civil War, the city was virtually destroyed and its famous markets and places have become the battlefield.

This is probably due to the reflections on the wonderful Aleppo past that the UN envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura had a project called “freezing” the conflict at the local level.

Himself sees this project as “practical and realistic.”

He came to this conclusion after a series of three-day meetings with Syrian leaders, President Bashar al-Assad understood.

Staffan De Mistura we know as a man with rich experience and excellent diplomat and we do not doubt his good intentions.

He says that if it works in Aleppo, it will begin the process of political settlement in Syria and other regions as a basis for the judgment of the Civil War.

Unfortunately, in every war, the agreement can be reached only if all parties are ready to sign it.

In Syria, such parties are numerous.

On November 26, the Minister Walid Moallem Syrian Foreign goes to Moscow where he will meet with President Putin.

We discuss the conditions at the beginning of the negotiations.

But Damascus, Moscow and Tehran have good advance the peace process, the major problems concern the relationship between many groups of opponents of the regime, and those between the sponsors of the opposition.

At present, the United States and most of the Arab world are almost entirely focused on the fight against the extremists of IE.

A special position is occupied by Turkey whose president recently said that his country would not join the anti-Western coalition EI because the Americans had not fulfilled all the conditions of Ankara.

In other words, the Turkish leader is willing to enter the war against terrorists on condition that it will also be one for the overthrow of Assad.

The same spirit prevails in Saudi Arabia, which has joined the Western coalition, but strives to overthrow Assad to weaken Iran.

Following the failure of a new round of negotiations, the Vice President of the United States Joe Biden has begun a visit to Ankara to persuade the Turks to cooperate or at least allow to use the air base of Incirlik to conduct raids against terrorists.

To facilitate its task, President Obama said again a few days before the visit that although Damascus has been informed in advance about the actions of the air forces of the United States to Syria, cooperation with the regime was undesirable or impossible and that the power of al-Assad remained “illegitimate”.

Meanwhile, Americans can not afford to topple the regime of al-Assad as they understand that the bombing and sending 3,500 so-called “instructors” are not sufficient to eliminate the jihadists in Syria and Iraq.

As to the regime will cause the growth of the terrorist threat throughout the region. But that’s not all.

The United States and, in particular, President Obama need any success in foreign policy, while the war against al-Assad will cross out any negotiations with Iran.

Tehran is not only an ally of the US in the fight against EI, essential for maintaining stability in Iraq.

An agreement between the two countries would have allowed Washington to weaken the positions of the allies of Russia.

In this way the old adage that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” does not work.

The United States are not prepared and can not afford to act in this way would be contrary to the historical agreements with Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

On the other by, they are unable to impose their will.

In Syria, everyone plays their game and if, in some cases, old alliances remain relevant, there are other situations in which the key players are looking for new solutions.

The question remains open, although we hope that optimism Staffan De Mistura for is not unfounded.

Unfortunately unable to gather around the table the key players

– the government of Damascus, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United States and the small Gulf countries funding armed gangs –

all “freezing” of the conflict, even if an agreement on it intervenes, will be very limited both in space and in time.

Ukraine 2: Why Biden flew to Turkey by Stanislav Tarasov

November 24, 2014

biden 1

So lined up trehsubektnaya scheme of intrigue: Turkey, jihadists and the United States in the role of facilitator.
Biden – no stranger to politics and so the question arises about the motivation of intrigue through which Washington introduced Turkey and LIH into a single political plane.
In addition to this series of articles in the American and European media about the tacit support of the Turkish jihadists and deployment of manipulative political game, which ended with the agreement of Ankara to pass through its territory of military units of the Iraqi Kurds (“Peshmerga”) to help the besieged forces LIH Kobanov city in northern Syria.
However, in the interim President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denied allegations Biden, threatening that “relationship with him will last if the US side will not follow an apology.”
After that Washington seems to be followed by reports that Biden apologized “for his reckless statements.”
But Biden himself said: “I will never give up their words, even if they are offensive to others.” Thus, in marked intrigue began to introduce new subjects.
Ankara has begun to make the establishment of “no-fly zone and the security zone” in Syria, there to move the camp Syrian refugees begin reconstruction of the so-called Syrian Free Army (SSA) and, possibly, the structures of power of the opposition in Syria.
Washington did not support this idea.
In response, Erdogan said that if the Americans do not accept the Turkish project for the training and arming fighters PAS, creating a buffer zone on the Syrian-Turkish border and mark the main aim of the struggle – the Assad regime, Turkey will not take part in the international coalition, and if they take it is not in the form as we would like it to Washington.
That is, Turkey refused to directly fight against the jihadists, even despite the fact that US President Barack Obama has hinted that the coalition will fight “in parallel” with LIH and the Assad regime.
In Ankara saw that the Americans have no intention to abandon their goals, although they spend endless negotiations and pretend that they are willing to sign any agreement.
However, those that have the old priorities.
US take into account the fact that in Syria there is hardly noticeable, but still moderate opposition, and the Kurds have combat troops LIH.
The White House is trying to separate them one from another, thus exposing LIH as the main combat target.
Turks also advantageous to use jihadists as “main weapon” against Damascus, and against the Syrian Kurds, since the SSA training take time and does not guarantee success.
In addition, Ankara has repeatedly stated that the air strikes US and its allies militants LIH in Iraq and Syria is not enough.
It also stands ready to participate in ground combat operations, but only in alliance with the countries of the coalition, leaving them with a military base in Incirlik.
The US and its allies refuse to participate in a ground operation, Washington began to create a military base in Iraqi Kurdistan (military airfield Harir), when suddenly an unexpected political somersault:
during an official visit to Iraq, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that
“Turkey will take measures to strengthen the security of the Kurdish region, including training the forces opposing LIH “,
at the time when the south-east of Turkey intensified troops Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
If Bashar Assad gave Syrian Kurds actual autonomy and built an alliance with them, Ankara is trying to build a similar alliance with the Iraqi Kurds,

leaving the rear of the military structure is banned in Turkey, the PKK, which it wishes to withdraw from the “game” through an agreement with visiting conclusion of the party leader Ocalan.

That is why it seems that Turkey is preparing a civil war among the Kurds, and the United States through the “phony war” with LIH continue their excellent intentions of Ankara’s geopolitical operation.
And demonstrated that the results of the visit to this country Vice President John Biden.
“We have been friends for a long time, and one of the big advantages that I’m back in Turkey among friends and allies in NATO – that’s what we always talk to each other without equivocation. Friends do not force each other to guess what they have in mind, “- pointedly told US Vice President.
But what is really on the minds of Washington and Ankara have not learned.
Biden held talks with Erdogan and Davutoglu. According to reports, the two sides agreed to continue to work together to combat LIH (!).
How exactly – is unknown, and no one knows whether this visit made “a note of calm” in relations between the US and Turkey, although the parties said they would “support the national security forces in Iraq and will continue to help moderate the Syrian opposition.”
Also stated that the US will allocate $ 135 million through the channels of the World Food Program for the purchase of food for Syrian refugees in Turkey.
At this stage, countries such as Turkey, Syria and Iraq – and just to the north, on the opposite shore of the Black Sea, Ukraine – are in some kind of “co-field” external interests of regional players.
It is in this extraordinary geopolitical paradigm Turkey is trying to strategize their actions, but to escape from the pressure the United States it is not possible.
Operation “LIH” continues.

Related: Excerpt Meanwhile, on the ground, only now has Ankara allowed roughly 200 peshmergas from Iraqi Kurdistan – whose slippery leaders do business with Turkey – to cross the border to, in theory, help Kobani. No soldiers, weapons or supplies are allowed for the Kurdish PKK/PYD forces which have been actually defending Kobani all along. Sultan Erdogan’s endless procrastination will be judged by any independent investigation as the key element in allowing the possible fall of Kobani. Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu once again has laid down the “conditions” for his country to help with the – so far spectacularly innocuous – US campaign against The Caliph; the possible liberators of Kobani must only be Iraqi peshmergas, and remaining FSA goons, not “terrorists” (as in PKK/PYD). In the end, Kobani – precisely on the border between southeast Anatolia and northern Syria – is highly strategic. CrossTalk: Empire of Chaos (ft. Pepe Escobar) Serena Shim, a US citizen, was killed in a car crash on October 19, following her reports of accusations from Turkey’s intelligence agency that she had been “spying.” [….] Shim had been reporting that IS militants had crossed the border from Turkey into Syria in trucks apparently affiliated with NGOs, some of which allegedly bore World Food Organization symbols. She claimed that she had received images from Islamic State militants crossing the Turkish border and was one of the few reporters focusing on the matter. serena-shim 1 serena-shim 2 serena-shim 3 +++

MH17 / B777 was shot down in a classic fighter jet attack from the rear semi-sphere.

UPDATE: #MH17 Russian Union of Engineers rocket & cannon was used by armament of another aircraft NOT missile from the ground

George Bilt’s Letter On MH17 Crash Sent To The Russian Union of Engineers (Full Text) Posted by princepsip on

© “The Ukraine Collapse Magazine” November 15, 2014 Dear readers, finally I got a full text of George Bilt’s e-mail sent to Ivan Andrievsky, the first vice president of the very respectable Russian Union of Engineers that can prove Ukraine Air Forces responsibility for MH17 crash. Thus, to avoid any speculations I decided to publish its FULL version with an attached satellite shot also sent by George Bilt: On Sun, Nov 9, 2014 at 6:38 AM, George Bilt Dear Mr. Andrievsky, I fully agree with your attached analysis on what brought MH-17 down. I am an MIT graduate and expert in aviation with more than  two decades of professional experience. MH17 /B777 was shot down in a classic fighter jet attack from the rear semi-sphere. First, the crew was targeted by cannon fire and air-to-air missile from some optimum 400 meters (to silence them killing instantly — not even a scream) — aiming right and sharp at the pilots’ abdomen region. So that the cockpit fell off (confirmed both by the Dutch Safety Board report and eyewitnesses). Then the B777 aircraft right engine and wing section was shot off by a heat-seeking missile and the aircraft started to roll out of control (again confirmed by eyewitnesses). Until it crashed. First, killing the crew in cockpit, second, aerodynamically killing the aircraft shooting off the right engine. This is a classic fighter jet attack pattern. Thanks and Best Regards, George Bilt. Ankara, judging by the data, given in the Turkish media, continues tacit support Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant

IA REGNUMNews » Politics » Stanislav Tarasov. Geopolitical …

Stanislav Tarasov. Geopolitical “plug” for Assad Erdogan

Nurriyet newspaper, citing a source in the Defense Ministry claims that high-ranking military officials of Turkey and the United

States are completing the building of the General Staff in Ankara talks on training militants of the opposition Free Syrian Army (FSA), which will be used to control both the government forces of Syria, and with militants “Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant” (LIH).

The source reports the preparation of 2 thousand. Militias in the training center of the gendarmerie Kirşehir province in central Turkey. Earlier, US President Barack Obama has asked Congress for 500 million. Dollars to support the Syrian opposition.

He also said the change strategy against LIH.

According to some, its essence is that if at the stage of formation of an international coalition fighting LIH was declared the main goal, now, this operation will be carried out “in parallel” with the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad.

Recall that Turkey determines its participation in the coalition need to change its goals – in the first place it puts the fight with President B. Assad, the second – with LIH.

The basic element is a new concept in Washington against Assad declared PAS, which has yet to recreate that essentially means the revision of already existing strategy.

Earlier in the Turkish media reported that during the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in New York for the UN General Assembly, allegedly as a result of several private meetings with US Vice President Joseph Biden, was a plan of action of the three points:

the establishment no-fly zones in the north and south of Iraq, as well as along the Syrian-Turkish border by the Turkish Air Force and the international coalition;

Turkish Air Force bombing areas under the control of the LIH in Syria – Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor and the Kurdish zone on the border with Turkey;

subsequent land invasion and occupation of these areas by Turkish troops, and the creation of a new opposition-controlled areas of the government, which should have been to begin resuscitation SSA.

As we can see, the implementation of the plan begins with the SSA, and Turkey, yet indirectly, immediately faced with three fronts:

Syrian general,

LIH and

general Kurdish having just three areas – Syrian, Iraqi and Turkish, as in its south-eastern vilayets resumed war against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

Division LIH in Syria, with whom fighting local Kurds actually act as a buffer between standing on the border with Syria Turkish troops and the Syrian army.

In addition, there were reports that the military leaders of the LIH and “Al Qaeda” agreed on the cessation of hostilities and the planned joint actions against the Syrian government army, the SSA and local Kurds.

As reported a REGNUM earlier, serious Turkish experts suggest that LIH will expand the front fighting in Turkey, as “on its territory strengthened cell” al-Qaeda “.”

According to the Associated Press, the new dzhihadistky alliance “should lead to the cessation of fighting between Islamist groups and the concentration of forces against the Kurds in northern Syria, and not in the direction of the fight with Damascus.”

Objectively, it suits Ankara, and apparently, so she tries to withdraw from the coalition strike LIH because Damascus had built before the so-called Ankara “Kurdish fork.”

Syrian President Assad granted citizenship B. 2.5 thousand. Turkish Kurds.

Already during the war, he withdrew from the Kurdish areas of the troops, gave them de facto autonomy, shifting them responsible for the war against the jihadists.

As a result, on the borders of Turkey (in northern Iraq and northern Syria) appeared autonomous Kurdish education that stimulates the PKK to fight already in Turkey.

Damascus satisfied and that the flow of refugees from the Kobanov (mainly Kurds) aims precisely to Turkey.

In the case came to power in Damascus, the Syrian opposition forces, supported by Turkey, all prospects Syrian autonomy immediately disappear.

Therefore Syrian Kurds will continue to support Damascus, and they, in turn, will help the Iraqi and of course Turkish counterparts.

If the alliance will become jihadists squeeze the Kurds of northern Syria, they will rush to Turkey, where, with the support of the PKK will form their antidzhihadsky front, which inevitably will delay to Turkey and LIH.

Another scenario is to prevent such a development, Ankara might take a chance on the occupation of Northern Syria, which will lead to the clashes of the Turkish army against Kurdish militias and the Syrian army.

East – a delicate and there maybe the most incredible temporary alliances.

On the one hand, Ankara, judging by the data, given in the Turkish media, continues tacit support LIH.

On the other – there is reason to believe that LIH is in no hurry to attack Damascus, and its air force strikes on positions more CCA.

But if Damascus is the liberation struggle, who will respond in Ankara on the question of whether in the name of what the goals and ideals of Turkey is preparing to get into an armed conflict, it is fraught with serious geopolitical consequences?
