He is Risen!

“Do not be afraid, for I am with you everyday until the end of time.”

These words were spoken by Jesus to His disciples after His resurrection, when He appeared to them before ascending to His Father.

Although these words are few, the meaning they carry is great.

Precious Angel

Precious angel, under the sun,
How was I to know you’d be the one
To show me I was blinded, to show me I was gone
How weak was the foundation I was standing upon?

Now there’s spiritual warfare and flesh and blood breaking down.
Ya either got faith or ya got unbelief and there ain’t no neutral ground.
The enemy is subtle, how be it we are so deceived
When the truth’s in our hearts and we still don’t believe?

Shine your light, shine your light on me
Shine your light, shine your light on me
Shine your light, shine your light on me
Ya know I just couldn’t make it by myself.
I’m a little too blind to see.

My so-called friends have fallen under a spell.
They look me squarely in the eye and they say, “All is well.”
Can they imagine the darkness that will fall from on high
When men will beg God to kill them and they won’t be able to die?

Sister, lemme tell you about a vision I saw.
You were drawing water for your husband, you were suffering under the law.
You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed
in the same breath.
You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death.

Shine your light, shine your light on me
Shine your light, shine your light on me
Shine your light, shine your light on me
Ya know I just couldn’t make it by myself.
I’m a little too blind to see.

Precious angel, you believe me when I say
What God has given to us no man can take away.
We are covered in blood, girl, you know our forefathers were slaves.
Let us hope they’ve found mercy in their bone-filled graves.

You’re the queen of my flesh, girl, you’re my woman, you’re my delight,
You’re the lamp of my soul, girl, and you torch up the night.
But there’s violence in the eyes, girl, so let us not be enticed
On the way out of Egypt, through Ethiopia, to the judgment hall of Christ.

Shine your light, shine your light on me
Shine your light, shine your light on me
Shine your light, shine your light on me
Ya know I just couldn’t make it by myself.
I’m a little too blind to see.

    Thunder On The Mountain

Thunder on the mountain, and there’s fires on the moon
A ruckus in the alley and the sun will be here soon
Today’s the day, gonna grab my trombone and blow
Well, there’s hot stuff here and it’s everywhere I go

I was thinkin’ ’bout Alicia Keys, couldn’t keep from crying
When she was born in Hell’s Kitchen, I was living down the line
I’m wondering where in the world Alicia Keys could be
I been looking for her even clear through Tennessee

Feel like my soul is beginning to expand
Look into my heart and you will sort of understand
You brought me here, now you’re trying to run me away
The writing on the wall, come read it, come see what it say

Thunder on the mountain, rollin’ like a drum
Gonna sleep over there, that’s where the music coming from
I don’t need any guide, I already know the way
Remember this, I’m your servant both night and day

The pistols are poppin’ and the power is down
I’d like to try somethin’ but I’m so far from town
The sun keeps shinin’ and the North Wind keeps picking up speed
Gonna forget about myself for a while, gonna go out and see what others need

I’ve been sittin’ down studyin’ the art of love
I think it will fit me like a glove
I want some real good woman to do just what I say
Everybody got to wonder what’s the matter with this cruel world today

Thunder on the mountain rolling to the ground
Gonna get up in the morning walk the hard road down
Some sweet day I’ll stand beside my king
I wouldn’t betray your love or any other thing

Gonna raise me an army, some tough sons of bitches
I’ll recruit my army from the orphanages
I been to St. Herman’s church, said my religious vows
I’ve sucked the milk out of a thousand cows

I got the porkchops, she got the pie
She ain’t no angel and neither am I
Shame on your greed, shame on your wicked schemes
I’ll say this, I don’t give a damn about your dreams

Thunder on the mountain heavy as can be
Mean old twister bearing down on me
All the ladies in Washington scrambling to get out of town
Looks like something bad gonna happen, better roll your airplane down

Everybody going and I want to go too
Don’t wanna take a chance with somebody new
I did all I could, I did it right there and then
I’ve already confessed – no need to confess again

Gonna make a lot of money, gonna go up north
I’ll plant and I’ll harvest what the earth brings forth
The hammer’s on the table, the pitchfork’s on the shelf
For the love of God, you ought to take pity on yourself

AG Rob McKenna has a case to challenge the health-care law’s individual mandate The Seattle Times editorial board supports the lawsuit of state attorneys general, joined by Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna, that challenges the constitutionality of the new federal health-insurance law. THE politically orchestrated hiss at Rob McKenna has not been convincing. Washington’s attorney general has the clear authority to argue that the new health-insurance law violates the Constitution, and to sign on to a lawsuit to that effect.Opponents ask, “Who is McKenna’s client?” It is the people who elected him. Note that a Survey USA poll suggested that more Washington voters agree with him (44 percent) than do not (40 percent).Opponents ask how much the lawsuit by 13 state attorneys general costs the people of Washington. It doesn’t cost them any extra money. The state of Florida is paying for it.Opponents imply there is something outrageous in challenging a new law. It is not outrageous. It is part of the American system. 04/04 09:03 PM

Four in ten tea partiers are dems or independents

    Ha!

  7. sisterrosetta Says:

The group is united around two issues – the economy/jobs and reducing the deficit. They believe that cutting spending is the key to job creation and favor tax cuts as the best way to stimulate the economy.

  8. sisterrosetta Says:

An overwhelming 95 percent said “Democrats are taxing, spending, and borrowing too much.”The group also vehemently dislikes President Barack Obama – even more so than those who called themselves Republicans in the survey. Over 80 percent of Tea Party members disapprove of the job he’s doing as president, whereas 77 percent of Republican respondents said they disapprove of Obama. The Tea Party members are also strongly opposed to the Democrats’ healthcare plan, with 82 percent saying they oppose it

  9. sisterrosetta Says:

Tea Party members are more likely to be male, slightly older and middle income. Almost half the members of the group reported getting their news about national issues from Fox News, 10 percent of respondents said that talk radio is one of their top two sources, which is seven-points higher than the average voter.

I’d love to know the percentage of those who actually identify themselves as tea partiers

Of that group what percentage voted for obama?

In a statement yesterday to WND, George Wright of Army Public Affairs said the Army has “no reaction” to Lakin’s statements, and “at this point, the Army will take no formal action.” He said, “Lt. Col. Lakin has stated his intent to violate Articles 87 and 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, but has not done so. Whether his actions to date violate any law or policy is for his chain of command to determine.” Wright said the Army had no information on in-channel concerns Lakin reported raising twice during 2009. There was “no comment” on whether Obama needs to document his eligibility to serve as president under the U.S. Constitution’s requirement that the commander in chief be a “natural born citizen.” Although a “natural born citizen” is undefined in the Constitution, many legal analysts believe the requirement was put there to prevent dual allegiances on the part of the president. Some believe those with dual citizenship would be ineligible. Obama wrote in his book his father was a subject to the United Kingdom, making Obama likely a dual citizen. “Lt. Col Lakin is free to express his personal views. The Army has no comment on his concerns, nor the views that he espoused,” Wright told WND. But the background already has been assembled in the case, should there be a prosecution, for the defense to come to court with specific demands for proof of the validity of the chain of command, up to the commander in chief. Support for Lakin is being generated at the Safeguard Our Constitution.com website, established by the American Patriot Foundation.

    http://hotair.com/archives/2010/04/05/who-are-the-tea-partiers/

Is the Tea Party as racist as the media and leading Democrats have portrayed?

Gallup’s demos of the Tea Party look very close to that of the overall American demos on ethnicity.

    Whites make up 79% of the Tea Party and 75% of the population;

blacks, 6% of the Tea Party and 11% of the population; and

“other” in the Tea Party exactly matches the general population at 15%.

    (Fascinating!)

The demographic similarities don’t stop there.

The educational background of Tea Party followers almost exactly matches that of the general population.

Among age demos, the differences between the two are no more than two points for any of the four categories used by Gallup.

The same is true of employment profiles, although ironically Tea Party followers tend slightly more to be employed full-time than not.

Income demographics differ a little more, but not by much.

Low-income earners (less than $30K) make up 19% of the Tea Party, as compared to 25% of the general population, and

those making more than $50K are 55% of the Tea Party rather than the 50% of the general population, but that’s not much of a difference.

Last week, we discovered that CNN and MS-NBC continued to bleed viewers while Fox News continues to grow.

That may be a result of politically active Americans getting tired of being insulted by news networks that have sneeringly misrepresented a movement to which they belong or at least sympathize.

In Colorado, health-care debate reverberates in congressional race

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/04/AR2010040403269.html

In the past year, that Democratic tide has begun to recede across Colorado, leaving Markey vulnerable.

In August, her district was the scene of a raucous town hall meeting, which she did not attend.

Since returning home after the vote on the health-care bill, she has kept a low profile, worried that emotions remain raw.

On Thursday night, she conducted a town hall by telephone.

Approximately 8,000 people dialed in to listen.

Even in the absence of the politicians, the divisions over health care are clear.

Conversations with voters in Loveland, a town of 60,000 located 46 miles north of Denver, revealed anger, support and confusion about the new law.

Jesley Torres, 24, expressed outrage over the requirement that everyone must buy health insurance.

“It’s not up to the government to determine what we do and not do,” she said.

“We’re turning into a communist country.”

Samoa Brown, a stay-at-home mother, said she has big reservations.

“Government’s not good at dealing with that much,” she said.

She also wondered about the mandate to buy insurance.

“Are we going to get fined and put in jail?” she asked.

But Carolyn Curtis, a preschool teacher, said she is “happy it got passed” and is pleased with the president.

Others agreed with Ethel Meininger, a retiree, who said:

“We know nothing about it. I think it’s too many things at one time.”

A slush fund for the government?

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0410/35347.html

“The White House is just pushing to keep the pressure up,” one financial industry lobbyist said.

Dodd still seems to be angling for GOP support.

Before the Senate recessed last week, Dodd lunched with the Banking Committee’s top Republican, Alabama Sen. Richard Shelby, whose support would be critical to getting a broad bipartisan deal.

If Shelby were to come along, Dodd could be in a position to win over other Banking Committee Republicans, such as Sens. Mike Crapo of Idaho, Bob Corker of Tennessee and Judd Gregg of New Hampshire.

And Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has put out word to Dodd that if he gets those four senators on board, he can expect much more support from the GOP Conference.

But getting to that point is no small task.

Already, some senior Republicans are preparing for the possibility of another big battle on the floor, arguing that Dodd’s bill is nothing more than just another government takeover that would lead to more bailouts of big banks.

Republicans argue that a new consumer protection agency housed at the Federal Reserve would give the government too far of a reach over businesses large and small.

They also say that a proposed fund that banks would have to pay into to save “too-big-to-fail” financial institutions would essentially amount to a slush fund for the government.

And they argue that regulations on derivatives could inadvertently hurt farmers and other end-users.

The White House has so far shown little willingness to bend on some of those provisions.

Since, in the battle for public opinion, polling results are often misrepresented, here are accurate, truthful results from polls of adults or voters by USA Today/Gallup, Rasmussen, Washington Post, CBS News and Quinnipiac:

Majorities called passage of the Affordable Care Act “a bad thing,” and the methods used by Democrats “an abuse of power.”

A majority said the vote made them “more pessimistic about Washington.”

    Majorities disapprove of ObamaCare, want it repealed, and favor their state suing the federal government to fight the requirement for every American to obtain health insurance;

they also believe that the bill will worsen deficits.

A plurality of voters is “less likely to vote for House members who voted for the health care bill” and believes it will increase premiums and reduce coverage.

Overwhelmingly, by about two to one, they say health care reform “costs too much and expands government too far,” and want Republicans to “continue to challenge the health care bill.”

*** In all of these questions, the independent or “unaffiliated” voters were much closer to the Republican position than the Democrats’ position. ***

When polled, the socalled “political class,” who work in and around government, are far more favorable to ObamaCare.

Finally, most voters believe Tea Party members “have a better understanding of the issues facing America today than members of Congress.”

Coincidentally, Fidel Castro considers health care reform to be “a miracle” and “an important battle and a success of his (Obama’s) government.” (AP, LA times)

Health Care Law: What to Expect for Business, Medicare and More

    By U.S. Senator Jon Kyl

    http://www.nationalledger.com/artman/publish/article_272631115.shtml

What does higher education have to do with health care?

The Department of Education will borrow money from the Treasury at a low interest rate, charge students a higher rate, and use some of the difference for new health spending.

Then there are the huge debts that our children and grandchildren will have to repay.

Democrats had to resort to budgetary tricks to hide the bill’s $2.6 trillion cost, and the total cost will only increase.

Cost estimates for government entitlement programs often prove optimistic, to say the least.

For example, the government health-care program in Massachusetts is devouring that state’s budget.

And Medicare was projected to cost $9 billion annually 25 years after it was enacted.

That estimate was off by $58 billion!

The health spending bill gives the federal government near total control of private health insurance and, therefore, delivery of Americans’ health care.

By limiting choices and imposing new government mandates, the measure forces more Americans to become dependent on the federal government and empowers bureaucrats to make decisions that will directly affect patients.

Because costs will continue to escalate, rationing of care will result.

We can do better. We should repeal the law and start over.
