The arrival of the deity that comes to rule the final pagan empire By Thomas R. Horn

The ageless Cumaean Sibyl was the priestess presiding over the Apollonian oracle at Cumae, a Greek colony located near Naples, Italy.

The word sibyl comes (via Latin) from the ancient Greek word sibylla, meaning prophetess. There were eventually many Sibyls in the ancient world, but because of the importance of the Cumaean Sibyl in the legends of early Rome codified in Virgil‘s Aeneid VI, she became the most famous among Romans, supplanting the Erythraean Sibyl famed among Greeks.

She is one of the four sibyls painted by Raphael at Santa Maria della Pace.  She was also painted by Andrea del Castagno (Uffizi Gallery, illustration above), and in the Sistine Ceiling of Michelangelo her powerful presence overshadows every other Sibyl, even her younger and more beautiful sisters, such as the Delphic Sibyl.

There are various names for the Cumaean Sibyl.

Excerpted from “Plum Island and NEST”

http://www.newswithviews.com/Horn/thomas123.htm

All of the prophets including Jesus Christ prophesied that the last days would witness NEST-like “incidences” where unexpected nuclear and/or biological “pestilences” (Mt. 24:7) wash upon earth.

Zechariah the prophet provided a vivid description of one such plague, saying, “Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth” (14:12).

Though Mary Shelley’s Apocalyptic pandemic in The Last Man does not sit authoritatively on the same shelf as Scripture, it is worth remembering her insistence that this work is a translation of the nine ancient Sibylline Books as recorded by the priestess Cumaean Sibyl while presiding over the Apollonian oracle—the same prophetess whose Novus Ordo Seclorum rests upon the Great Seal of the United States pointing to the arrival of the deity that Scripture and Occultists agree comes to rule the final pagan empire.

Will biotech play a role in the fulfillment of her prophecies by providing the tools to raise her god and the plagues Scripture say will accompany him?

We will reveal that People in high places believe so, but first in the next entry we consider how the same Watcher technology could give rise to the Mark of the Beast…

Researcher Tom Horn outlined connections between transhumanism, the ‘Watchers,’ and stargates. Interestingly, transhumanism, which involves human enhancement through such fields as biotech, appears in ancient texts, he said. Repeatedly, he ran across the idea of god-like beings (or the Watchers) coming down to Earth and genetically tinkering with humans, as well as blending different species together. Classical mythology may have been a crude record of these blending experiments, he noted.

Horn postulated the Watchers needed to blend human/animal forms in order to create a suitable body to extend themselves– a regular human spirit wouldn’t enter such a hybrid form. Now, developments in fields such as biotechnology could be leading to a new mechanism for the Watchers return, he cautioned.

Stargates or wormholes may be used by advanced beings to traverse through dimensions, time, and vast distances, said Horn. He recounted details from the epic tale of Nimrod, a giant who’d undergone a transformation and built the Tower of Babel as a kind of stargate. Horn also discussed prophecy, the Mayans and 2012.

Excerpt

Whenever such principalities recognize a religious or political body that has become a force for moral good, they set about through a sophisticated labyrinth of visible and invisible representatives to bring that organization down one righteous soul at a time.

It is within this concealed arena of evil supernaturalism that unregenerate men are organized. Under demonic influence, they are orchestrated within a great evil system (or empire) described in various scriptural passages as a satanic order.

In more than thirty important biblical texts, the Greek New Testament employs the term kosmos, describing this “government behind government.” It is here that human ego, separated from God, becomes hostile to the service of mankind while viewing people as commodities to be manipulated in the ministration of fiendish ambition.

Some expositors believe the origins of this phenomenon began in the distant past, when a fire in the minds of angels caused Lucifer to exalt himself above the good of God’s creation.

The once-glorified spirit, driven mad by an unequivocal thirst to rule, conquer, and dominate, spawned similar lust between his followers, which continues today among agents of dark power who guard a privileged “cause-and-effect” symmetry between visible and invisible personalities.

At Satan’s desire, archons command this supernatural, geopolitical sphere, dominating kosmokrators (rulers of darkness who work in and through human counterparts), who in turn command spirits of lesser rank until every level of earthly government, secular and religious, can be touched by this influence.

Roosevelt and the Key of Solomon

“Speak softly and carry a big stick.”

Roosevelt first used the phrase in a speech at the Minnesota State Fair on September 2, 1901, twelve days before the assassination of President William McKinley, which subsequently thrust him into the Presidency.

 An Observation

Please bear in mind that this post is about the beliefs of Thomas R. Horn, not about mine own.

While I concur with Horn up to a point, I cannot bring myself to buy into the entirety of his conclusion.

Some of my friends are paralyzed by the fears they harbor concerning end times.

I cannot believe that the God of Love or His Son would want us to be so fearful.

That doesn’t mean that I don’t believe evil exists. I am certain evil does exist.

Some have turned their backs on their Creator.

That is not the answer, either. And they should turn back around and seek the Face of God.

They needn’t look too far as they will see His Face in the faces of all the people who surround them.

By all means do carry a big stick.

Wear the protective armor of the Love of God.

Love, Love, Love.

And speak softly His Name.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

How Fortunate the Man with None

    From the play “Mother Courage”

    You saw sagacious Solomon
You know what came of him,
    To him complexities seemed plain.
He cursed the hour that gave birth to him
And saw that everything was vain.
How great and wise was Solomon.
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It’s wisdom that had brought him to this state.
How fortunate the man with none.

    You saw courageous Caesar next
    You know what he became.
They deified him in his life
Then had him murdered just the same.
And as they raised the fatal knife
How loud he cried: you too my son!
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It’s courage that had brought him to that state.
How fortunate the man with none.

    You heard of honest Socrates
    The man who never lied:
They weren’t so grateful as you’d think
Instead the rulers fixed to have him tried
And handed him the poisoned drink.
How honest was the people’s noble son.
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It’s honesty that brought him to that state.
How fortunate the man with none.

Here you can see respectable folk
    Keeping to God’s own laws.
So far he hasn’t taken heed.
You who sit safe and warm indoors
Help to relieve our bitter need.
    How virtuously we had begun.
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It’s fear of god that brought us to that state.
How fortunate the man with none.

I certainly do not. If we are to go around confronting Satan and casting out demons then what about all the other stuff? Where are believers raising the dead? Walking on water? Etc?

I agree with you that we are more close than apart on this one, and thanks for being so civil.

I have to take your examples one at a time here, because you lumped them all together.

For one thing, the Apostles didn’t have the Holy Spirit while Christ was with them, because……they had Christ with them. Before Jesus ascended, he promised them the Holy Spirit would come, and it did (as told in Acts). Today, do we as believers have the Holy Spirit with us – directly?

Certainly! Anyone who does not believe that is not a Christian, but plays one on TV.

Walking on water? That was Christ alone. No apostle ever did that.

Raising the dead? Beside Lazarus, and Christ Himself, I can’t think of anyone else who has been literally raised from the dead. I am probably mistaken on this, but help me out here.

    Casting out demons?

Whoa. There are MANY examples of this one in the bible, in historical Christian events, and contemporary events.

    Lots and lots.

So, I think you are muddying the waters a bit here by lumping everything together in order to build a straw man that says we as believers don’t have power (when given by Christ) to confront evil itself.

Is this something to be taken lightly, improperly, and carelessly? No way. Ever. Evil is not something you dance around with.

But, our God (and I am convinced you are firm believer) can be given that authority through Him if our hearts are pure, we are prepared, and God wills it.

Does Christ rebuke false believers on the last day? You bet. I find it interesting that they try and argue with Him on that day that did something in His name. It sounds like (and it is) desperation.

It is amazing that Christ lets us know this event ahead of time.

Again, I think we are just about on the same page …

So, I think you are muddying the waters a bit here by lumping everything together in order to build a straw man that says we as believers don’t have power (when given by Christ) to confront evil itself.

I never said we dont have power through the HS to confront evil, but I am not talking about some generic evil like sin in your life or habital things. I’m talking about direct confrontation of Satan and his minions. We are not to actively confront Satan … when we encounter him we passively submit to God and let Him do the warfare.

And Im not sure how you figure that the 3 epistle passages constitute a strawman; I know you are familar with the three passages mentioned. Do a search on Satan, devil, demon, serpent, etc. and look at what is taught in the epistles and what relates to spiritual warfare (i.e., dealing with Satan). Its just the three … there is a common theme: submit to God, allow yourself to be strong (passive voice in the Ephesians passage) resist/stand against the devil …

There is no conjuring up angelic forces to aid in the battle, there is no magical phrase that we can envoke to mystically cause the demons to “tell the truth.”

There is a huge difference between “I submit to your Lordship Father and I humbly ask and pray that you remove this offending spirit for your kingdoms sake” … AND … “I command you demon in the name of Jesus to depart” …

The former approach is taught in the epistles, the latter is not.

The COLB posted online by Obama should have the word “Amended” on it.

Notwithstanding the fraud of editing a COLB to mislead and confuse the electorate, the amendment of the original birth records will show Obama to be ineligible to hold the office of POTUS.

    Found at ObamaConspiracy

(sven doesn’t say why this would show Obama to be ineligible. but I’m guessing it has something to do with him being adopted by Lolo.)

    New standard of ‘birther’ justice

And finally came Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, a distinguished U.S. Army surgeon, due for promotion, with a stellar military career.

When he simply asked for proof that Barack Obama is constitutionally eligible to serve – something now 58 percent of the American people do not believe – he was court-martialed.

He is now being denied the right to defend himself in that case because, as the female military judge suggests, requiring the evidence he seeks might prove “embarrassing” to the president.

    “Embarrassing?”

Are good men and women denied justice because someone might be “embarrassed” by the truth of the evidence?

What might that ruling suggest about Obama’s actual ability to prove his eligibility?

It almost sounds like Army Col. Denise R. Lind, the acting judge in this case, might know Lakin is correct in his suspicions.

Surely Obama would not be “embarrassed” if he had the documentation he could provide to prove he is eligible, right?

So, in the interests of protecting Obama from “embarrassment,” the Army is ready to railroad Lt. Col. Lakin, deny him a fair hearing and look the other way on the little matter of constitutional integrity.

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting a little sick of this charade.

If Obama were capable of “embarrassment” in this matter, all he would need to do would be to answer the now overwhelming call of the American people for transparency, candor, honesty and forthrightness.

The decent thing to do for a man who seeks only to avoid “embarrassment” is to prove he is what he claims.

If he can’t, he should step aside as president.

    (Not going to happen.)

Obama is embarrassing the entire nation with this stonewalling.

His efforts at cover-up are a disgrace to the office of the presidency and to the Constitution he swore to uphold.

Sadly, I feared all along that these court cases were not going to result in the kind of justice and rule of law they sought.

(Birthers should concentrate on state legislatures passing “birther” laws.)

He said: “We all realise that in the past we have had occasion to use the search for a new Constitution as an excuse, sometime as a reason or a scapegoat but now we don’t have that luxury, we have a new Constitution… we must walk the talk.”

MPs Victor Munyaka and Silas Ruteree dismissed recent opinion polls that suggested that church leaders had lost credibility following the adoption of the Constitution which they had opposed in the August 4 referendum.

“The whole world knows what is bad in this document.

Even God knows because you spoke out but I want you to continue praying so that we as the courageous MPs led by Ruto can push forward to have it cleaned” said Mr Munyaka.

    Our people are moving again.

Let me tell you a TRUTH about free energy, new technologies, etc. I learned within last two days and it’s about UFOLOGY.

I swear on my life and on the Cross of Jesus what I am telling you is true but I can’t tell you how I learned it.

If I do, oh the trouble I would start for my Bosses and they have enough to deal with without my adding one more thing.

I think I am still adding one more thing because I have to buzz my Boss just because of mentioning it, but we swear truth to the people when we become an Eagles’ Team members.

I have to follow that oath too.

    Here’s the truth, ok?

The movers and shakers of Ufology, the ones with some control of how and where “ufology goes,” the same ones who tell the public that they are trying to get new technologies freed from government control, free energy devices, new tech on the scene, that they want YOU to have the TRUTH AND A BETTER LIFE:

they are really dedicated to a few things I WATCHED PROOF OF MYSELF,

while they say that they are dedicated to getting all the above to the public.

    They are dedicated to:

    1. Supporting TELLING YOU that the idea of new technologies reaching the public through Ufology and the actions of whistleblowers, scientists, inventors, etc.

IS WHAT THEY WILL BE ON WATCH FOR YOU, AND GET BEHIND IT TO “FREE IT” FOR YOU.

    2. Telling such people as whistleblowers, scientists, inventors, etc. FACE TO FACE, FACE TO FACE that they are BEHIND THEM 100%

when such people say they have the ability to free such technologies, provide them, or get them to YOU FOR YOU.

    3. They are dedicated to hoping that when appoached by such people as whistleblowers, scientists, inventors, etc.

that such people REALLY DON’T HAVE such devices they can bring to the public, like most of them don’t.

(They are the ones who say they were “stolen” but never were or never working useless “black boxes” in the first place.)

    4. They are NOT dedicated to YOU in the least, because as soon as such devices are found to be REAL, they run around, play legal grabass with each other, break their word and agreements because neither was good in the least in the first place.

Their talk is cheap and so are they.

    5. They are dedicated to running away when they have to cover their a/ss and they don’t give a sh/t about you or yours.

    6. They are dedicated to only 1 person and 1 group ONLY: THEMSELVES, and they use ANYTHING, ANY LIE to keep you coming back for more.

Dan, you are my BOSS, but you aren’t several other things, things you’ve never claimed to be.

As my Boss you can admonish me for saying and doing things, and given your position even worse.

You aren’t my preacher and you have never claimed to be, or acted like you were.

I am buzzing you to here, to still ask you three questions, three that I had to think long and hard about:

    1. In your estimate, have I fulfilled my oath as an Eagles’ Team member to be truthful to the public?

    2. In your estimate, have I failed in my oath to the Group?

    3. In your estimate, how’s my soul lookin in front of Jesus right now when talkin “truths”?

I am reminded of the lines from Tennyson’s “The Passing of Arthur”, the last of his Idylls of the King, when the expiring King Arthur says,

“More things are wrought by prayer/ Than this world dreams of. Wherefore, let thy voice/ Rise like a fountain for me night and day.”

I hope that those prayers may prove helpful for Hitchens (who will remain in my prayers).

    Shakespeare Sonnet # 29

When in disgrace with fortune and men’s eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possessed,
Desiring this man’s art and that man’s scope
    With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising
    From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven’s gate;
For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

Tennyson from “The Passing of Arthur” Idylls of the King

“‘The old order changeth, yielding place to new,
And God fulfills Himself in many ways,
Lest one good custom should corrupt the world.
Comfort thyself; what comfort is in me?
I have lived my life, and that which I have done
May He within Himself make pure! But thou,
If thou shouldst never see my face again,
Pray for my soul. More things are wrought by prayer
Than this world dreams of. Wherefore, let thy voice
Rise like a fountain for me night and day.
For what are men better than sheep or goats
That nourish a blind life within the brain,
If, knowing God, they lift not hands of prayer
Both for themselves and those who call them friend?
For so the whole round earth is every way
Bound by gold chains about the feet of God.”

    More on the GZM

    [….]

Kristof is not a “worrier” but allows that he would oppose some mosques.

Thus all opposition is not from “worriers” but from rational, vigilant people.

That concession is in fact the entire argument, a key repudiation of the column NK wrote Sunday.

The second, far more important problem with Kristof’s second column is that opposition to GZM is specific, not general, and that the manifest willingness of the vast majority of GZM opponents

    –including any “worriers”–

to declare support for mosque building across the U.S. but not in the vicinity of the hallowed ground of Ground Zero is what makes the entire episode a very weak foundation on which to build any general assertion of a widespread climate of fear or Islamophobia.

The willingness of Mayor Bloomberg and many others to attribute such prejudice to their fellow citizens is not a reflection of a moral flaw on the part of the opponents of GZM but on those making the false charge.

Mr. Kristof invites comments on this column here.

    http://community.nytimes.com/comments/kristof.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/04/is-islamophobia-the-new-hysteria/

I encourage GZM opponents to respond but to do so with the civility and engagement that NK brings to my program when he appears.

I will try and get him back this week or next to continue the conversation.

    America’s Third Great Awakening

From “Glenn Beck,” September 3, 2010.

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,600802,00.html

BECK: All right. Well, hang on. Let me go back to Miles here, because the victim card is played a lot.

And I know a ton of parents who will say about their kids, they’ll be called by the school and they’ll say, “Oh, it’s not my kid.” Yes, it is.

It is your kid. It’s my kid. It’s all of our kids.

But we play the victim card and we — you know, we play it all the time.

How do we get out of that? How did you pull yourself out and say, no, there is a purpose for me?

MCPHERSON: You know, faith is a substance of things hopeful of the evidence of things not seen. We are created as creatures of faith.

Every time you inhale, you take a step of faith.

Every time you don’t jump of building, you take a step of faith, because you trust there’s something that you can’t see that will affect your life.

Matter of fact, the greatest step of faith we take every day is loving somebody.

We take our heart and we say, I’m trusting you with my heart. That’s a type of faith.

So, we are created as creatures of faith. The problem is, faith is based on fact, not feeling.

A lot of times, we base our faith on what we see others go through and what we think, versus not what’s factual.

And so, when I was doing my thing, and when we were all doing our thing, we were basing our faith on things that people told us that weren’t factual experiences — feelings, desires, lust — instead of facts.

And when you put your faith in fact and see the facts always come through, God — as you said in the beginning — when you pray, you do — it works out.

    God is always faithful.

And so, when we find ourselves living self-destructive lives, it’s because we’re putting our faith in a lie.

When we put our faith in the truth, things work out. That’s the difference.

BECK: So, Rabbi, let me go here on faith, because I think this is our biggest problem in our country, is we have put our faith in things that are untrue.

We have bought the big lie. We have can’t have it all. Character doesn’t matter, et cetera, et cetera.

I want to — we have to take a break. And then I want to come back and start there. Why do those things matter? Why do those things matter?

    Back in a second.

You cannot fight me for I have the sword of hate

But one thing you can’t see, my answer is simply
    An impenetrable fortress
of love – love – love

    FINALE:

The fear went as quickly as it came
The air was clear, the fire was burned again
The flames leapt, the organ played
The swans sang to greet the day

    And then we knew that
Love will find love will find love will find
    Love …

Soebarkah returned to Hawaii by himself in the third grade (most likely he was escorted by a State Dept employee or an NGO contracted with the State Dept) and he had his own passport? Are you sure or are you guessing? Is that a US passport or an Indonesian passport?

And why would Stanley Ann let her own passport expire at this time but make sure Soebarkah’s passport was up to date?

Did she not renew her US passport because it would have killed the story Soebarkah was an abandoned or orphaned Indonesian child with American grandparents in Hawaii?

With American grandparents as the next of kin, the State Department would have expedited Refugee Status travel documents for the child so he could return to the US immediately.

Finally, in Washington’s 8th district, where Rep. Dave Reichert (R) has survived two tough election cycles, the district’s generic ballot in polling conducted by POS, a GOP polling firm, has flipped from plus-7 for the Democrats in 2006 and in 2008 to plus-7 for the GOP now.

In 2004, the generic in the district was even.

Just as important, in the 2008 all-party “top two” primary in Reichert’s district, 48.5 percent of voters cast a vote for a Republican candidate (Reichert was the only one on the ballot), while 49.1 percent voted for one of the Democratic candidates.

This year, three Republicans combined to draw more than 58 percent of all votes cast.

If district polls increasingly echo national surveys, we will have a better idea exactly how much damage Democrats will incur and where that damage will be.

    Media bias is absurd

The mainstream media loves to make fun of Fox News, in general, and Fox host Glenn Beck, in particular, but they can’t ignore him when he attracts hundreds of thousands of people to Washington, D.C.—something only the president should be able to do.

To tell the truth, the liberal press can’t stand it. Whether you like Beck or not, you had to be amazed by the draw.

Of course The New York Times put the story on page 15.

[Had it been an anti-war rally with 1,000 people during Bush’s term, it would have been front page, no doubt.]

The mainstream media made an “objective” attempt to cover the story of Beck’s rally, but there was a clear bias in trying to low-ball the size of his crowd—while at the same time presenting Rev. Al Sharpton’s “competing rally” as something of equal impact.

    Give me a break.

Estimates of Beck’s crowd went from 500,000 by organizers to 300,000 by NBC News to 87,000 by CBS.

Hardly anyone would say much about the size of Sharpton’s rally.

The New York Times reported a couple of hundred at the high school stadium, and one report said a couple of thousand were on his march.

It was embarrassing to see the difference in support.

Sharpton is nothing more than a media hound and “Jesse Jackson wannabe” who is available as a black face for every cable TV show out there.

The TV coverage of Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally had aerial views showing the massive crowd, but on Sharpton’s rally it only had camera angles from eye-level so the viewer could not see the crowd [biased editing].

Even locally, WBRZ-TV had a segment titled “Dueling Rallies.”

Well, if this was a duel, Beck had nuclear weapons and Sharpton had a pea-shooter.

I think the mainstream media believe they are “putting one over on the public.”

And then they wonder why their trust numbers are down in the cellar with Congress, and their viewers and readers are shrinking every day.

    Obama’s War on Arizona
    By Pamela Geller

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/09/obamas_war_on_arizona.html

The Obama administration has included the Arizona state immigration law in a report of human rights abuses to the United Nations, that collective negation of humanity and home to the worst human rights abusers in the world.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer struck back Friday, demanding that the reference to Arizona’s immigration law be taken out of the State Department’s report to the U.N.’s human rights commissioner.

Brewer wrote a letter to Hillary Clinton saying that the inclusion of Arizona in the U.N. report was “downright offensive.”

Brewer said — and she was right — that “the idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a state of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional.”

First, Barack Obama attacked America by suing Arizona for passing a law that merely reflected federal immigration law. And now this.

Decades before the post-American president took office, Ayn Rand saw the U.N. for what it was and what every free person should have known it was — and it has only gotten worse since then:

“Psychologically, the U.N. has contributed a great deal to the gray swamp of demoralization — of cynicism, bitterness, hopelessness, fear and nameless guilt — which is swallowing the Western world.”

(I’ve been following Pamela since 2004. While I don’t always arrive at the same conclusions, gosh, I admire her tenacity!)

(The UN is effective in some areas (humanitarian relief efforts) but has proven to be utterly ineffective as world policeman. That task has fallen to us. And we’d like to resign the position.)

    http://newledger.com/2010/09/trapped-in-the-medicaid-ghetto/

But perhaps the most disturbing of the untold stories is how the new law’s expansion of Medicaid will burden African-Americans.

The evidence for this unsettling conclusion is solid and data-driven.

According to a Congressional oversight report released by the Senate’s two serving physicians, Dr. Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Dr. John Barrasso (R-WY), the president’s choice to expand Medicaid services dramatically will have a disproportionate impact on the health of the poor—and as a side effect it will trap a significant percentage of African-Americans in a ghetto of poor medical care.

Academic studies have repeatedly confirmed Medicaid patients experience poorer health outcomes and higher infant mortality rates.

In July a new report from the University of Virginia found even worse performance: surgical patients on Medicaid actually fare worse than the uninsured.

They are 13 percent more likely to die than those who have no insurance and 97 percent more likely to die than patients with private insurance.

Yes, you read that right — having no coverage at all is statistically better than being covered by Medicaid.

In 75th year, experts discuss future of Social Security

    http://www.bristolpress.com/articles/2010/09/04/news/doc4c82f982a7f05610998350.txt

The stark fact is that Social Security in its 75th year is in financial straits and in danger of going broke.

According to David C. John of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, Social Security owes $7.7 trillion more in benefits than it will receive in taxes, and never-ending deficits will eat up money that could be used for other programs and tax cuts.

The general consensus is there are three ways to save Social Security:

    1) reduce benefits, 2) increase retirement age, or 3) raise taxes.

James A. Dorn of the Cato Institute responding to the war cry of New Hampshire Republican Sen. Judd Gregg, argues that the framers of the Constitution would never have imagined a welfare state and this kind of “forced intergenerational redistribution.”

    [….]

To Kennelly, cutting Social Security is not an option.

Still, how do you answer critics who argue that in five years revenues will be insufficient to pay full benefits and that the program is bankrupt?

(Obama and Dems will argue that Repubs want to take away your Medicare and your Social Security. That simply isn’t true. Rep Paul Ryan and others on both sides of aisle are trying to figure out a solution, not an abdication.)

    http://hotair.com/archives/2010/09/07/orszag-extend-all-bush-tax-cuts-two-years/

The massive explosion in deficits didn’t come from a sudden revenue shock as much as it did from massive increases in federal spending, regulation, and expansion.

Undoubtedly, this will mean tough choices for legislators.

Rep. Paul Ryan’s roadmap on the budget acknowledges that it will take entitlement reform and reduction and an end to favored government programs.

But not only can it be done, even without some of those choices it was being done until Democrats took control of the checkbook.

Before taking more out of our pockets, Washington should start living within its already-monumental means.

    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/117387-muslim-lawmaker-mosque-opponents-are-birthers-proponents-of-bigotry

Ellison’s comments are an indication of the escalating tensions over the Islamic center just days before the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The Minnesota lawmaker referenced a controversy over a similar proposed facility in Tennessee and a planned Quran burning to be held by a radical church group in Florida this weekend, saying they are “emblematic of the larger issue” of anti-Muslim attitudes in the U.S.

Ellison also trained his fire on Fox News, saying the station “is 24/7 trying to excite and divide Americans along religious lines.

    Scapegoating the Muslim community.

This is sort of a well-worn right-wing tactic.”

“Mosque opponents are birthers, ‘proponents of bigotry'”

    http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/hannity/transcript/brewer-pledges-keep-fighting-feds-secure-arizona039s-border

HANNITY: You know, there’s a lot of speculation. A lot of people have come up with their own theories as to why they think this is happening.

What do you think? Do you think this is about politics?

Do you think this is about vote gathering? Did you think this is, you know, breaking people into demographics?

That the Democrats have calculated this will help them with the Hispanic vote in the country?

BREWER: All of the above. It’s pretty obvious what is taking place.

You know, it is all politics in regards to how they are behaving, there’s absolutely no excuse for it.

I mean, it’s — you know, it’s like the unions, the bottom line the unions are at the White House more than he is.

You know, they’re running our country.

HANNITY: All right, Governor, always a pleasure, thank you for being with us. Appreciate it.

BREWER: Thank you. Thank you for your support, Sean.

    HANNITY: You bet. Thank you.

People often also ask me about this verse:

[5:51] O you who believe, do not take Jews and Christians as friends; these are friends of one another. Those among you who ally themselves with these belong with them.

This is actually not a good translation of the original, which has a very specific context.

In the Arabia of Muhammad’s time, it was possible for an individual to become an honorary member or “client” of a powerful tribe.

But of course, if you did that you would be subordinating yourself politically to that tribe.

The word used in Arabic here does not mean “friend.” It means “political patron” (wali).

What the Quran is trying to do is to discourage stray Muslims from subordinating themselves to Christian or Jewish tribes that might in turn ally with pagan Mecca, or in any case might have interests at odds with those of the general Muslim community.

    So the verse actually says:

[5:51] O you who believe, do not take Jews and Christians as tribal patrons; these are tribal patrons of one another. Those among you who become clients of these belong with them.

Since the Quran considers Christians nearest in love to Muslims, it obviously does not have an objection to friendship between the two.

    ***

Well, all I know is my daughter’s dorm mate at SUNY Stony Brook is a devout Indian Muslim and was in her wedding party. And they are very good friends.

The problem I have with Muslims in general is that they have not done enough to condemn terrorism.

It seems that so long as Muslim terrorists were only killing Israeli Jews, Muslims looked the other way.

And now we’re all paying for it.

As far as quran burning, you know I just can’t picture Jesus as a book burner.

Free, landmark summary explains eligibility issue clearly,

    http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=197557

The report notes Obama “has gone to great efforts to sell the public on his own version of his life, but his story has been inconsistent.

For example, according to Illinois state filings, when Obama registered as an attorney in 1991, he stated he did not have any former names.

In fact, he had been known for several years as Barry Soetoro.”

Just the facts that are not in dispute would create issues, the report notes:

“Assuming Obama’s parents were Barack Obama Sr., a British subject of Kenyan origin, and Stanley Ann Dunham, an eighteen-year-old American woman, neither of his parents were qualified to transmit U.S. citizenship to him. Barack Obama Sr.’s foreign allegiance disqualified Dunham’s mother from conferring U.S. citizenship under the law prevailing at the time. The law required any U.S. citizen having a child with a non-citizen to have been physically present in the United States for at least five years after the age of sixteen to automatically transmit American citizenship. Because neither parent could confer American citizenship to their son, Obama can only be a U.S. citizen if he were actually born in the United States.”

It documents how at the time of the Constitution’s writing, “natural born citizen” was understood to mean a person whose parents were both American citizens.

So has Obama proved he was born in the U.S?

From a legal standpoint, an annulled adoption is an adoption that never happened.

Obama’s theory is that “Barry Soetoro” was issued the Certificate of Loss of Nationality from the US State Department.

Since the Soetoro adoption was annulled, then the Certificate of Loss of Nationality was voided.

For a minor to revoke a CLN before the minor turns 18 years and 6 months old, an affirmative statement must be signed, dated and sworn to.

Consequently, the CLN followed Obama after his adoption was annulled.

That’s why I say we should look at Obama’s SS-5.

He filed for a SSN in the mid-70′s as a Permanent Resident of the US and not a US Citizen.

The Connecticut prefix for his SSN was due to a return address of his refugee sponsor located in that state.

Obama’s Diversion: The Politics of Envy

    Posted by: Hugh Hewitt

    http://hughhewitt.com/blog/g/b1ce98dc-f16d-42df-8489-784ef1cbefb3

Somehow he is going to try and persuade Americans deeply worried about their economic future given the recklessness of the past two years and the incompetence of the team driving the economic bus

that all will be well because the president somehow got through private school in Hawaii, then Occidental and Columbia and two years a community organizer and then Harvard Law School.

This attempt to be Bill Clinton and feel people’s pain is from a different era, one in which information flows didn’t exist and when the electorate wasn’t so completely aware of what has happened and what is happening.

    The president’s economic plan failed.

The panic that swept him into the White House was all but over when the first stimulus passed, and it has been his absurd economic policies that have driven risk-taking and investment offshore or underground.

Our key competitors are growing but we are stuck in a parallel universe of mountainous debt and a maniacal desire to punish the rich.

The GOP should absolutely refuse the president’s half-a-loaf tax cuts and the class war rhetoric that will accompany the debate.

Insistence on extension of all the cuts, including for the highest income bracket, is about creating jobs which won’t happen

if the key job makers at the top of the income scale are saving up against not just the tax hike but also the burdens of Obamacare and all the other “initiatives” launched by the anti-capitalist White House.

The GOP’s refrain should be simple:

Why would voters trust the architects of the stimulus and Obamcare to lead on tax rates and economic recovery?

    Aren’t two enormous strikes enough?

MSM will try and mount one last charge on behalf of

*** the incompetent president they inflicted on the country ***

and denunciations of Republican obstructionism will be fast and furious over the next two months,

but Leaders McConnell and Boehner have to keep their members on the same page, all saying:

“We know what the president and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have promised, and we know what they have delivered.

We are putting a choice to the people: Do you want more of them, or do you want to try growth and freedom instead?”

    http://blogs.reuters.com/james-pethokoukis/2010/09/08/goldman-sachs-on-stimulus-2-0/

A rousing “meh” to the new Obama economic plan

The White House has announced three new measures to stimulate growth:

    100% up-front depreciation of capital investments;

    a permanent and slightly expanded research and experimentation (R&E) tax credit;

    and $50bn in infrastructure spending.

While potentially helpful, we do not expect these proposals to have a large effect on growth for three reasons:

    (1) we are skeptical that temporary expensing of capital investments will alter corporate behavior, particularly in 2010 or early 2011;

    (2) the expanded R&E tax credit, while positive, is too small to have much effect on growth; and

    (3) additional infrastructure spending, which could have a more significant growth effect, seems the least likely to become law.

To the extent that these proposals become law and do have an effect on growth, we would expect the effect to be concentrated later in 2011.

(I flip my lid everytime I think about how close that stimulus vote was, how much we’ve spent with little to show, how a targeted stimulus might just have worked. Time lost, dollars lost, futures lost. Well, we just have to pick ourselves up, shake off the dust, and move on.)
